The New Zealand men's national rugby union team, known as the All Blacks, represents New Zealand in what is regarded as its national sport. The All Blacks are the Rugby World Cup champions and they have held the top ranking in the world for longer than all other countries combined and in over 100 years only five of the top 20 test rugby nations have beaten New Zealand. The All Blacks perform a haka (Māori challenge) before each international match. The haka has been closely associated with New Zealand rugby ever since a tour of New South Wales in 1884. That’s why they are so important to the country (New Zeland).
